A Motorcycle Diary on Koronadal’s Attempt to Break Two (2) Guinness World Record
After the nine (9) day 1st Koronadal Motorcycle Festival wherein the City Government of Koronadal invited different speakers to share inputs in promoting road safety, courtesy and discipline, traffic rules and regulations, provisions of franchising and defensive driving through symposiums, seminars and workshops and variety shows at night for the drivers and motorist participants and the three (3) day National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs Inc. convention where everyone in the city gets a glimpse in awe, jaw-dropping expression as different types and kinds of motorcycles from the smallest to the largest, slowest to the fastest can be found wherever you are as they park and roam around the city.
Right
then and there I realized that one could travel farther and further
through riding your own motor bike because hand grip made of steel bars
can take you to places, beautiful, in Hiligaynon, KANAMI, extraordinary places.
Let me take you on a journey in this historic event where the City of Koronadal, the National Federation of Motorcyle Club Inc. and other sponsors have gathered more than three thousand (3,000) motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the Philippines with their motor bikes in one event breaking two (2) Guinness World Records, Most Engines Started Simultaneously and Most Motorcycle Horns Sounded Simultaneously.

ON MY CURIOSITY
I wonder how does it feel to own and ride your own motor bike. I wonder how does it feel to take and lead road at your own phase. I wonder how a lady finds ease and comfort in riding a big motor bike literally two (2) times bigger than her body mass. I wonder how can be a woman be passionate about those things. This begins a story on how I met the lady behind the pen name, The Two Wheel Lady, one of the few lady bikers one had come across during the Motorcyle Festival.
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH THE TWO WHEEL LADY
Imagine one lady could love being on the road and the roaring sounds of the engine. |
And finally I get to meet the young fine lady in her big bike, Kawasaki 650cc, Imagine how fast she can drive? over a cup of brewed coffee. Indeed, girls need men to take them to places, a strong woman can get there on her own.
She is Ms. Janet T. Zammit, a big motor biker rider, a wanderer and an entrepreneur who was born in Bacolod( Yes, we comfortably chatted in vernacular, Hiligaynon) and was raised in General Santos. She is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. She longs for the thrill of the ride and the romance of adventure.
She is a member of the Elite Riders Club in Gensan, a motorcycle club who's main motivation is to travel the region through extending help to the least favored communities in the region, a meaningful road trip with a happy heart at the end of the day.

Not all ladies want diamonds, full tank of gas and blue skies are enough. |

Elite Club Riders are among the motorcycle clubs who supported all the way on the record breaking event of the city together with the South Cotabato Motorcyle Club Inc. from the weekly meeting to the actual event, Miss Janet said in one of her Facebook posts, "Our agony of four (4) hours standing and waiting is all worth it. Only riders in the event know how hot yesterday, never sweat like that before from the extreme heat of the sun and from our engine"
IN KORONADAL'S ATTEMPT TO BREAK GUINNESS WORLD RECORD
It's overwhelming and fulfilling to see motorist friends and acquaintances from the different parts of the Sox Region and seeing new faces from the different parts of the country flocking with their motor bikes at the lengthy General Santos Drive united as one holding one vision of representing their respective clubs, home cities and provinces in this one record breaking event held at the City of Koronadal despite the very long line at the entrance, jammed under the heat of the burning heat of the sun which started at an early hour of the day at the registration area to more hours of waiting to the actual record breaking event yet everything was worth it after the two (2) attempts as the Mayor counts to simultaneously start their engines and blow their horns.
This attempt have shown us that there is strength in unity, when there is teamwork and collaboration wonderful things can be achieved from the efforts of the City Government of Koronadal, the partner agencies, the local government and the people of the city's neighboring towns and provinces, other sponsors, the media partners, the different motorcycle enthusiasts clubs and organization, the individual motorcyle owners and all who took part of this record breaking event.
